Axel
I’m a once-in-a-generation, super-star quarterback.
Bad Plays?
I don’t make bad plays.
But when Miranda Bach, a.k.a. ‘little Randy’, walks back into my life, my whole world changes in an instant. She was my best friend’s little sister. We practically grew up together.
But now that she’s standing in front of me with the same fiery-red-curls I remember and her sexy as hell yoga pants—she’s anything but ‘little Randy’ anymore. She’s a full grown woman.
And irresistible at that.
Now as my massage therapist, she’s the one in charge of getting me through an injury and back on the field. But when she puts her hands all over me, a million tempting emotions course through my body. Now I only want one thing
Her.
But this is a dangerous game we’re playing. If we get caught it’s a breach of both of our contracts.
Bad Plays?
I’m starting to think this might be the worst play of all…
Miranda
I never thought I’d see him again. The man who ushered me through my boy-crazed teenage years and countless nights of fantasies. He was everything a girl like me wanted.
And boy did I hate him.
His constant teasing and the way he called me ‘little Randy’ always had me in near tears. So you can imagine my racing heart when I saw him banging on my office door. Now I’m forced to confront all of my old teenage emotions again.
He still seems like the same old jerk I remember him being—arrogant, rude, and all he cares about is money. The last thing I need is to let feelings get involved.
I’m a professional.
Sleeping with the league’s most famous quarterback would ruin my career.
Emotions?
I’ll bury them deep and do whatever it takes to get the job done…
There’s no way in hell I’ll let Axel Montgomery ruin my life.

Titled story-I'm being generous with 2, it only got interesting way later in the story. Axle a pro football player not sure the position, is a douche, he pays people to do everything even his 'friends' and for Miranda as his 'personal PT' if you do read it it will be way later on. Not to mention he spoilers his 3 year old daughter with presents every other day and he wonders why she gets away with a lot of things and whines when she wants something and he won't get it for her. Really for a 3 year old should not be entitled to ever doll and all the wardrobe it go with a doll and the last doll to discarted. The story was mostly boring and I skimmed a lot until I can get in to the story.

Bad Play A Sports Romance eBook Kristen Flowers Reviews
Miranda is a sports therapist doing massages. She left her old job when her boss wouldn't back off trying to get her to date him. She opened her own clinic, but getting it started and a client base going isn't going so well. When she gets a call from an agent about a player needing her help she is happy to take a new client, but then he says a name she hasn't heard in years, Axel Montgomery. He was her brothers best friend and her teenage crush. He was always arrogant and sometimes just plain cruel, bringing her to tears at times. She really needs him as a client though or she went be able to pay her bills. Axel is a star quarterback in the NFL. He tore his rotator cuff and had been benched. He needs to get better but these therapists aren't helping his shoulder at all. When his manager lets him know he found a new one he sure wasn't expecting it to be little Randy. She really grew up and is beautiful, but he is paying her and he doesn't like to get closer to the people he pays. At the end of his first session with her he pretty much throws cash at her before rushing out. He had to get out before she noticed the effect she was having on him. He had to admit she was good at her job though because his shoulder was already feeling better than anyone else had made it. At his second session he offers her a full time gig working for him. Mira needs the money so she agrees. When she meets him at after practice she had to meet with the team doctor and sign a bunch of contracts. By the time they get to his session she is beyond mad. When he talks about his Molly she softens to see this side of him. Soon they are kissing and going farther. After another session that gets heated they pen the door to find the doctor standing against the other wall, disapproval all over his face, he had heard them. After talking to her brother who warns her about how Axel treats everyone as if his money should make them be at his beck and call Mira is worried that he is doing it to her. Since Axel's nanny wrote he had to bring Molly to practice with him. The coach and the team weren't happy, but then he sees Mira there. He asks her to watch Molly, he doesn't know why but she doesn't look happy with him. All through practice he can't help but to steal glances at the way they interact. She doesn't interact with his daughter like someone who is paid, but like someone who loves her. After practice walking to do his session they are met by the doctor who shoves the contract at Mira. Their being intimate is a breach of contract and cause for termination. When Axel tells the doctor that she is his employee and only he can make that decision Mira realizes that her brother was right. She looks at him and walks away. Finally Axel realizes what he said and how it sounded, he knows he had to fix this. He takes Molly and rushes out to find Mira. Will she forgive him? Will she even listen to him? He loves her and he can't lose her. He won't lose her, he will fix this. Loved this book. It was awesome. Will definitely be reading other books by Kristen. Voluntary review of an advance readers copy.
Axel is Miranda's brother's best friend...or, ex-best friend. He's really wrapped up in himself, but he has the capacity to love. Miranda is just starting out on her own, and has those fears and insecurities. But why is she so willing to chase one brand of inner peace, when she's so miserable?
Most of the story is pleasant enough...but there was a fair amount of drama over some very blunted edges, which didn't really make a ton of sense. Like a level-six event would get a level-ten reaction. And while the fact is that Axel just doesn't ask any questions, but takes whatever he wants, and that is more realistic than we'd probably like to believe, Miranda asks nothing, either...from any of the folks she interacts with. So why be upset? Still, a decent read for an afternoon.
I can't say that I disliked this novel, but I can't say I liked it either. It didn't stay with me after reading, and left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. I think this was mostly because I did not care for the "hero" at all. He was self-centered, egotistical, thought way too highly of himself and his abilities and treated every one else like crap, except his daughter, Molly. I have to admit I skimmed some of it, buy Molly appeared to be a spoiled, tantrum throwing brat. I think she was a toddler, but she still acted immature for her age. The "heroine" was OK, but rather insipid. I guess the hero redeemed himself at the end, but I really don't know why. It appears he was stuck by a thunderbolt of humanity. Dialogue was stilted and a few typos added to the overall perception of this book for me. Probably a good, quick read if waiting in the dentist's office. You won't need to invest much effort in to it.
I was given an ARC of the book in return for an honest review
This is my first read from this Author. I enjoyed it. It's well written. Loved Miranda and Axel together. Sexy! I recommend this book.Great story. Thank you, Kristen Flowers. Great work )
I received this ARC book for a review. Another great book on sports romance. Fast pace book, good storyline, and great characters. Great chemistry between Miranda and Axel.
I was looking for a book with a little bit of romance and a real football experience and Bad Play fit the bill. The combination of Ivy's strong commitment to her mother and the football player who only cared about himself blended into a good story.
Kristen Flowers is pretty much the queen of sports romances and this is another cracker. Landon is SUCH a sexy bad boy, and the whole book is throbbing with tension throughout. Well written, it looks BEAUTIFUL on my , and it's just the right mix of romance and sex that I was looking for. Definitely one to scratch your itch.
I got a free exclusive ARC in exchange for writing this honest review.
